Training on EC fundings
The Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) which will be running for seven years, from 1 January 2007 up to the end of 2013, is the main financial tool used by the European Commission to support research and development activities covering almost all scientific disciplines. The 7FP has a total budget of over € 50 billion. The money will (for the most part) be spent on grants to research actors all over Europe and beyond, in order to co-finance research, technological development and demonstration projects.
Activities funded within FP7 must have a “European added value”. One key aspect of the European added value is the trans-national nature of many actions: research projects are carried out by consortia which include participants from different European (and other) countries while research fellowships in FP7 require mobility over national borders.
The broad objectives of FP7 have been grouped into four categories: Cooperation, Ideas, People and Capacities, each of them containing specific funding programs for RTD and Training activities...........
